Daily Itinerary
Day 1 Departure
Day 2 Istanbul
Arrive at Istanbul airport and meet with your tour guide at the international arrivals terminal and transfer to the hotel in Istanbul.
Day 3 Istanbul, Antalya
After breakfast, depart from the hotel to visit the Hippodrome, where chariot races and competitive athletic events took place during the Roman period. Visit the Blue Mosque, which is a 17th-century Ottoman Mosque famous for its six minarets and magnificent interior with blue tiles. Next, visit is the Topkapi Palace, the residence of Ottoman sultans, housing the richness of 700 years, with its treasury section that includes the crown jewels and a unique collection of Chinese porcelains. In the afternoon, start at St. Sophia, the great Byzantine basilica built in the 6th century, and the last stop will be the Grand Bazaar, where there will be an opportunity to shop prior to returning to the hotel. Drive to Istanbul airport and fly to Antalya. Dinner and overnight are at the hotel.
Day 4 Antalya, Perge and Aspendos, Pamukkale
After breakfast, begin with an exploration of the Pamphylian cities of Perge and Aspendos. Visit the ruins of the Great Theatre, the stadium, and Perge's huge Hellenistic and Roman gates. Then, drive to Aspendos to see the best–preserved Roman theatre. Arrive in Pamukkale for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 Pamukkale, Kusadasi
Visit Pamukkale, where we will see unique limestone formations. Also, see the remains of ancient Laodicea and ancient Hierapois. Continue to Kusadasi and visit the Basilica of St. John, which houses an immersion baptismal and is believed to be the resting place of John. Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi.
Day 6 Ephesus, Izmir Airport
Arrive in Ephesus, one of the New Testament’s most significant cities. The Apostle Paul came here in 53 A.D. According to tradition, the Apostle John wrote his Gospel here, where the Virgin Mary spent her last days. Visit the archaeological site, including the House of Mary. Afterwards, drive to Izmir Airport and fly to Athens. Upon our arrival in Athens, we will meet our bus and guide for a panoramic driving tour. Later, check in at our hotel.
Day 7 Athens, Lavrio (Embarkation), Mykonos
We transfer to the port of Piraeus to begin our 3-night Greece and Turkiye cruise with a visit to the mountainous island of Mykonos. You have free time to explore the island before returning to the ship for evening entertainment.
Day 8 Kusadasi, Turkiye, Patmos, Greece
Visit the Turkish port of Kusadasi, where we will have a free morning for shopping or relaxation. At midday, the cruise will sail to Patmos, with free time to discover the “Jerusalem of the Aegean.” We will visit the Monastery of St. John and see the Cave of the Apocalypse, where John the Evangelist wrote the Book of Revelation during his exile.
Day 9 Rhodes
Today, you will spend the whole day on the unique island of Rhodes. Today’s shore excursion includes a visit to the location where Paul stopped on his way back to Palestine for his trial and imprisonment. We will have the afternoon in the old city inside the walls for free time and shopping. Return to the ship for dinner and evening entertainment.
Day 10 Crete, Santorini
This morning, we arrive in Heraklion. The capital of Crete is a former Venetian harbor with representative architecture and art. Our tour of the city takes us on a short drive to visit the Cathedral of St. Titus, a disciple of the Apostle Paul and the first Bishop of Crete. We will visit the Venetian Loggia, the Basilica of St. Mark, the medieval monastery of St. Catherine, and the Cathedral of St. Minas. This afternoon, our cruise will reach Santorini, one of the most unique places in the world to admire for its geography, a result of an earthquake that took place many centuries ago. We can take the shore excursion to Oia Village and Fira (the capital), or we will explore the unique capital on the Caldera over the volcanic hill, which is accessible either by foot, donkey ride, or by cable car.
Day 11 Corinth, Athens
Today, we will drive to Corinth to visit the archaeological site where the Apostle Paul worked for 18 months with tent makers Aquila and Priscilla (Acts 18:1-18). We will see also the handmade Corinth Canal connecting the Aegean with the Ionian Sea. Return to Athens to visit the Acropolis, Parthenon, Areopagus, and Mars Hill, where the Apostle Paul delivered his well-known sermon. You will also have a panoramic tour of the Parliament House, the Academy, Omonia Square, and Panathenaic Stadium. You will have free time in the Plaka area, the ancient city of Athens. Dinner and overnight are at our hotel.
Day 12 Return to the USA
