Daily Itinerary
Day 1 Departure
Our journey begins as we depart the USA.
Day 2 Sarajevo
After arrival at the airport, we will transfer to the hotel. Then, enjoy some leisure time to explore. Later, gather for dinner with a folklore performance in a local restaurant.
Day 3 Sarajevo, Medjugorje
After breakfast, we will have a panoramic and walking tour with a local guide. See the Latin Bridge, the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, Bascarsija, the city’s old bazaar and the historical and cultural center. Drive to Mostar. Lunch is on your own. Travel to Mostar, a city in southern Bosnia straddling across the Neretva River with the iconic Old Bridge (Stari Most). Visit the Franciscan church. This tiny Village became known worldwide with the apparition of the Lady of Medjugorje as told by six teenagers in June 1981. It is an unofficial Catholic pilgrimage site. Check-in at our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 Medjugorje
This morning, you have the chance to discover and experience the phenomenon that has made Medjugorje one of the most famous places of pilgrimage throughout the Catholic world, attracting millions of visitors. Since 1981, the Virgin Mary has been appearing to people who have received her message of peace. You may visit the Apparition Hill, where the Virgin Mary first appeared to the children and celebrate Mass. The rest of the day is free. In the evening, join the villagers and pilgrims worldwide to pray the joyful and sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary. Dinner and overnight in Medjugorje.
Day 5 Medjugorje, Dubrovnik
Today, you will climb up the Cross Mountain. There, you will pray at the Stations of the Cross as you reach the summit. In the afternoon, check out and drive to Dubrovnik, where upon arrival, you enjoy a walking tour of Old Dubrovnik, visit the Rector’s Palace, and see the Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column, Sponza Palace, the Dominican Monastery, and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world. The rest of the day is free. Dinner and overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 6 Dubrovnik, Montenegro, Dubrovnik
Travel to the Republic of Montenegro. Head to the mouth of the beautiful Bay of Kotor, Southern Europe's longest and deepest fjord. Enjoy a boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks, one of two islets off the coast of Perast. The Roman Catholic Church is the largest building on the islet, with a museum attached. Upon return to the coast, we will stop in Perast, an old charming coastal town. Visit the city of Kotor before returning to Dubrovnik. Your evening is free to enjoy your way.
Day 7 Dubrovnik, Split, Plitvice
After breakfast, you travel to Split. Enjoy a sightseeing tour featuring the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Then, see the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle, and the cathedral. Celebrate Mass. In the afternoon, you travel to Plitvice. Dinner and overnight in Split.
Day 8 Plitvice, Zagreb
After breakfast, we will enjoy the spectacular Plitvice Lakes National Park. Have your camera ready as you walk around several lower lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder of 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. In the afternoon, continue to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Take a panoramic of the city while driving towards your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9 Zagreb, Marija Bistrica, Budapest
This morning, we will travel to the Marian Shrine of Marija Bistrica, which is the largest and most important pilgrimage site in Croatia. The focus of interest is the parish church, which has a 16th-century wooden statue of the Madonna called “Our Lady of Bistrica”. The statue is believed to have miraculous powers as it was not destroyed during later attacks by the Turks. Celebrate Mass. In the afternoon, continue to Budapest. Dinner and overnight.
Day 10 Budapest
Your morning sightseeing tour includes views of all the main attractions - The Parliament, Royal Palace, Castle Hill area, Fisherman’s Bastion, Matthias Church, Heroes’ Square, and Gellert Hill with its Citadel. You will have a relaxing river cruise along the Danube in the afternoon. You will enjoy a special dinner with a folklore show in the evening. Overnight in Budapest.
Day 11 Budapest, Vienna
After breakfast, visit the Mátraverebély-Szentkút Shrine, Hungary's most important Marian shrine. The Hungarian Conference of Catholic Bishops pronounced this place as a national shrine. Celebrate Mass. In the afternoon, you continue to Vienna. Dinner and overnight in Vienna.
Day 12 Vienna
Enjoy a walking tour of the city center this morning, including St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Hofburg Imperial Palace. Celebrate Mass. After an independent lunch, you will visit Schonbrunn, the Habsburg’s magnificent baroque summer palace. Dinner and overnight.
